뒷마당 백합나리 재조명, 중국선 고급 건강식품이라네^^

지난 6월 초에 뒷마당에 마지막으로 핀 아이리스들과 

중순에 핀 백합나리 사진을 미처 정리 못한채

7월의 마지막주를 맞이하고 있다.

7월은 우리집 뒷마당은 절정의 순간들이 많아

6월에 찍어둔 사진보다 내용이 버라이어티하지만,

그래도 시간 순서별로 등록함이 옳을 것 같아

더 늦기전에 아이리스와 백합사진들 부터 올려본다.

6월초의 우리집 뒷마당에 핀 보라 아이리스.

아이리스(Iris) 란 꽃이름은 

그리스어로 무지개라는 뜻인데,

다양한 품종과 색상을 가진 꽃이라서 그런 이름이 붙은 것이다.

블랙베리 릴리, 뱀의 머리 홍채, 개밥 바라기 아이리스등 이름도 다채롭다.

그 많고 많은 이름과 색상의 아이리스중  

우리집 뒷마당에 있는 아이리스의 이름은 무엇일까?

보라색이 아주 화려한 아이리스, 이름은 무엇일까?

아이리스 저매이카(Iris germanica)

찾아보니 이 보라 아이리스는 자수정( Amethyst Flame) 

혹은 아이리스 저매니카(Iris germanica)라고 하고,

잎에 검붉은 줄무늬를 지닌 진노랑 아이리스는 바로코 아이리스라고

영어 백과사전에 기록되어 있는데,

바로코 아이리스(Iris barbata elatior 'Barocco')

지인에게 구근을 얻어온 것을 심어 핀 꽃이라

이름을 찾는데 시간이 많이 걸렸다.

일일이 이름 찾기가 힘든 아이리스는 크게 

꽃잎에 주름장식이 많은 '수염있는 아이리스',

반대인 '수염없는 아이리스',

가느다란 꽃잎을 가진 '깃장식 아이리스' 등

3 종류로 기억해 두면 좋을 것 같다.

그러고 보니,

우리집의 아이리스는 모두 '수염 아이리스'이다.

이 보라 줄무늬 아이리스는 

우리집 보라 아이리스와 하얀아이리스의 자연교배로 탄생한

올해의 우리집 뒷마당에 나타난 새로운 아이리스이다.

벌과 나비가 많은 뒷마당에서 일어난 신비한 현상이기도 하다.

다음은 우리집 백합나리를 소개할 차례이다.

우리집에서 가장 먼저 피는 참나리(주황)은 앞마당에 심은건데

사진 기록 시기를 놓쳐 올해 사진에는 빠졌다

샛 노랑 나리는 뒷마당에 핀것으로 참나리 다음에 핀것이다.

우리집 뒷마당의 순정, 여성미, 귀여움, 연약함의 상징, 연핑크 백합.

참나리는 아니지만 데이-릴리라고 부르는 백합종류.

올해는 그동안 백합나리를 키우면서도 잘 몰랐던

부분을 리서치 해보았는데,

약용이나 요리용으로 쓰이는 종류까지 알아보았다.

릴리는 라틴어로 진실을 의미하는데,

하얀 릴리를 참나리로 간주한다.

백색을 포함한 노랑, 오렌지, 분홍색, 빨간색과 자색등의

백합나리는 봄과 여름에 꽃이 만발한다.

일부 나리는 고양이에 독성이 있는데,

백합의 꽃가루를 포함해 고양이에게는

급성 신부전과 세뇨관 상피 손상을 가져올수 있다.

백합의 요리와 약용사용:

중국

중국에서는 백합구근을 뿌리 채소로 식용하는데, 

주로 맛이 쓰지 않은 나리종은 

3종 (lancifolium, pumilum, brownii) 구근이다.

브로우니 나리(Lilium brownii (百合 干; pinyin)와

데비디 나리(Lilium davidii var. unicolor)는

고급 건강 식품으로 건조 형태로 판매된다.

신선한 나리 구근은 다른 야채와 함께 요리하거나

건조 구근은 국에 사용한다.

야백합(野百合 brownii).

참나리 (卷 丹)

브로우니 나리(Lilium brownii (百合 干; pinyin).

데비디 나리(Lilium davidii var. unicolor).

중국에서 요리나 약용으로 사용되는 백합은

야백합(野百合 brownii),

참나리 (卷 丹)등이 있다.

백합 꽃도, 폐에 효과적인 강장제로 알려져있다

백합 꽃과 구근은 여름에 

신체 열을 내리기 위해 식용으로 쓴다.

백합 구근은 감자처럼 강판에 갈아서

국을 되게 하는 전분으로 쓴다.

일본

백합 뿌리를 야채 계란 찜의 재료로 쓴다.

대만

식용으로 시판되는 유기농 백합이 있습니다

품종은 대만 농업부에 의해 선택된

네덜란드에서 수입하고있는 아시아 백합 품종이다.

대한민국

나리(Thunberg), 백합(lancifolium),

큰 솔나리를 약용으로 쓴다.

각 나라에서 식용과 약용으로 사용하는

백합나리의 종류는 영어백과 사전에서 가져온

영문 문장안에 기록해 주지만, 차후

네 정원에서 기르면서 자세한 사진과 레시피들을 연구하고 싶다.

Lily

The Latin name is derived from the Greek λείριον, leírion, 

generally assumed to refer to true, 

white lilies as exemplified by the Madonna lily.

The flowers are large, often fragrant, 

and come in a range of colours including whites, 

yellows, oranges, pinks, reds and purples. 

Markings include spots and brush strokes. 

The plants are late spring- or summer-flowering. 

Toxicity

Some Lilium species are toxic to cats. 

it involves damage to the renal tubular epithelium 

(composing the substance of the kidney and secreting, collecting, 

and conducting urine), which can cause acute renal failure. 

Veterinary help should be sought, as a matter of urgency, 

for any cat that is suspected of eating any part of 

a lily - including licking pollen.

Culinary and herb uses

China

Lilium bulbs are starchy and edible as root vegetables, 

although bulbs of some species may be very bitter. 

The non-bitter bulbs of Lilium lancifolium, Lilium pumilum, 

and especially Lilium brownii (Chinese: 百合 干; pinyin: bǎihé gān) 

and Lilium davidii var. unicolor are grown on a large scale in China 

as a luxury or health food, and are most often sold in dry form for herb, 

the fresh form often appears with other vegetables. 

The dried bulbs are commonly used in the south to flavor soup. 

Lily flowers are also said to be efficacious in pulmonary affections,

and to have tonic properties.

Lily flowers and bulbs are eaten especially in the summer,

for their perceived ability to reduce internal heat.

Culinary use:

Yuri-ne (lily-root) is also common in Japanese cuisine, 

especially as an ingredient of chawan-mushi (savoury egg custard).

Culinary use:

The parts of lilium species which are officially listed as food material 

are the flower and bulbs of Lilium lancifolium

Lilium candidum Loureiro.

There are already commercially available organic growing 

and normal growing edible lily bulbs. 

The varieties are selected by the Taiwanese Department of Agriculture 

from the Asiatic lily cultivars that are imported from the Netherlands.
