결혼식 부케 칼라백합과 칼꽃 글라디올러스(7월의 상징 꽃)

칼라(Calla)와 글라디올러스(Gladiolus)는

우리집 뒷마당에 지금도 한창인데.

7월의 중순부터 꽃이 피고 지기를 거듭한다.

마치 꽃시장을 방불케하는

상업적인 모양?을 가진 두종류의 꽃에 대해

그동안은 관심없이 지낸것들을 노트해 본다.

붓으로 그라데이션을 준것같은 연핑크 진핑크 복합색인 칼라.

색은 달라도 어디서 많이 본꽃...??

깔때기 모양의 꽃을 가진 칼라는 

흰색, 라벤더, 퍼플, 오렌지, 노란색, 복숭아색등 

무지개컬러의 다양함을 지닌 구근식물인데,

칼라는 나팔 백합, 돼지백합으로도 불린다.

칼라는 아주 따뜻해질때까지는

땅속에서 동면에 들어가 

마치 다시 피어날지를 의심케하는? 주인을 조마조마하게 만들다가 

서프라이즈!!하는 구근식물이다.(나의 경험과 느낌으로는)

그림속에 있는 듯한 모양이 아주 짱짱한 칼라.

칼라를 칼라 릴리라고도 하는데 

영어백과에 보니 원산지에 따라 다른 칼라가 있다.

북반구 온대 지역 원산지.

남 아프리카 (이디오피아)출신.

위 3종을 비교해보니,

우리집 칼라는 단연 남아프리카 출신임이 확실해 진다.

어린 모종을 사온 것이라 기억하는데,

이름도 칼라릴리였다

핑크가 진한 칼라.

칼라가 잘잘한 꽃들과 대비를 이루는 7월의 우리집 뒷마당.

그런데, 우리집 칼라는 잎이 좀더 길쭉한게...

아이리스와 교배를 한건지...ㅎㅎ

꽃은 칼라이되 남아프리카의 칼라잎과 

미국의 칼라잎은 키차이가 나네^^

칼라 릴리의 뜻은 사랑을 의미하는데,

그리스어 웅장함과 아름다움에서 유래되었다.

칼라 백합은 우아함과 세련미의 상징으로

결혼식 테이블이나 신부 부케로 사용되는데,

여섯 번째 결혼 기념일을 표시하기도 한다.

칼라의 색상중 

화이트는 순결, 정직, 순수를 의미하고,

핑크는 우아함, 감사, 감탄을,

퍼플은 로열티, 매력, 열정을 표현한다.

노란색 백합은 감사와 화려, 거짓 중 

하나를 의미 할 수 있으므로 조심해야한다고 한다.

우리집 글라디올러스는 현재, 주황-꽃핑크- 노랑-빨강- 피치(복숭아)가 있고,

꽃피는 순서도 적은 순서대로 약간 다르다.

아마도 정원에 위치한 장소에 따라 빛의 양이 달라 그럴수도 있을 것이다.

우리집 뒷마당의 7월의 확실한 꽃(꽃시장이나 꽃집에서 많이 본)은

역시 칼라 릴리와 글라디올러스!!

가늘고 키가 너무 커 거센 바람에 훅 쓰러지기도 하는

글라디올러스는 바람막이가 필요할 것 같고,

결혼식에 쓰는 그 꽃, 칼라릴리는'

내년에는 하얀색을 심을 필요가 있겠다는 생각을 하면서...
